Use the Tulip® One-Step Tie-Dye Camouflage Kit and fabric paint to you create a tee that’s one of a kind, just like dear ol’ Dad! It makes a great Father’s Day gift that beats a tie any day!
Step 1 Machine wash T-shirt in cool water with a little soap. Dry and press.
Step 2 Trace “DAD” on freezer paper. Cut out with craft knife to create stencil. Set aside.
Step 3 Prepare the black and green dyes as directed. Shake well and pour each color into separate plastic containers.
Step 4 Lay out the shirt on work surface that has been covered with plastic tablecloth.
Step 5 Dip the large brush into the green and brush across the tee from top to bottom in no particular pattern, leaving some areas open for the black. Refer to photo.
Step 6 Dip brush into the black and brush streaks across open areas and into some of the green.
Step 7 Turn over T-shirt to reverse side and repeat. Let sit six to eight hours to set.
Step 8 Machine wash in cold water. Dry and press.
Step 9 Center the “DAD” freezer paper stencil on the upper center portion of shirt. Iron on stencil, making sure edges are well sealed.
Step 10 Pour puddle of Ebony paint on palette and sponge into the stencil. Let dry. Remove stencil.
Be sure edges of stencil are firmly sealed to prevent paint seepage.
