Adults can have fun creating these travel themed boxes using map scrapbook paper decoupaged onto the boxes and Tim Holtz® Kraft- Core on the lids. These boxes are great for organization or inspiration in an office.
Step 1 Trim map paper to fit on each side of the boxes. Use
Mod Podge® to attach papers to the boxes. Let dry completely.
Step 2 Use lids as a template. Place the lids face down onto the center of the back side of the cardstock. Trace lid with a pencil using dotted lines. (These will be your fold lines.) Next, turn lid on its sides and mark edges all around. Cut out the outside edge of the template with an X-ACTO® and a straight edge. Place a straight edge along the dotted lines and fold the edges up. Sand the Kraft-Core paper and wipe the surface with a Dust Buddy. Ink the surface with the ink pads and then add Mod Podge® to the lid. Let dry and then add another coat of Mod Podge®.
Step 3 Trim out ¾"x2½" tags from Kraft-Core paper. Punch the ends with a decorative punch.
Step 4 Turn the labels Kraft side up and ink edges with an ink pad. Punch a hole on each end and insert a gold brad. Attach a label to each box lid. Refer to photo.
Step 5 Remove pins from the back of the decorative photo corners with wire cutters. Hot glue decorative corners onto the fronts and sides of the boxes.
To create the aged leather look on the lids: sand the Kraft-Core paper and wipe the surface with a Dust Buddy. Ink the surface with the ink pads and then add Mod Podge® to the lid. Let dry and then add another coat of Mod Podge®. Refer to photo.
