Treasure Chest Paper Maché Boxed Set
Item# 31443Adults can have fun painting and embellishing this paper mache treasure box set. These paper mache treasure boxes make a very cool keepsake gift.Step 1 Paint the boxes with light blue and apply light gray paint while still wet. Let paint dry.
Step 2 Dry brush green paint over the boxes.
Step 3 Ink edges and trim of the boxes with a brown ink pad. Have a rag or paper towel handy to lighten some of the areas. Ink the outside edges of the box with a black ink pad.
Step 4 Cut small slits along the top trim and front of the box about every ½" with an X-ACTO® knife. Push brads through the slits. Open box to reach in and separate brad stems to hold brads in place.
Step 5 Lightly sand the wood cutouts to distress and age them. Ink some of the edges with a brown ink pad.
Step 6 Cut three strips of kraft core paper to make a name label to fit on the front of the boxes. Write name with a technical pen or marker. Ink edges with a brown ink pad.
Step 7 Arrange wood cutout and label onto box and then glue in place.
