Getting Started

Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper or disposable foil.

Step 1 Using the acrylic roller, roll out a sheet of clay about 3" wide and about ¼" thick. Use the rubber snowflake stamp to imprint two snowflakes next to each other. Press firmly to get a nice imprint. Position the 2¼" round cutter so that when you cut, the snowflakes are off center on the ornament. Press the cutter down to get a perfect disk shape. Smooth the edges with your finger if necessary. Use a toothpick and make a hole at the top large enough for the ribbon to go through. Allow to dry following package directions.

Step 2 Mix a small amount of the Light Periwinkle acrylic paint and a small amount of Metallic Pearl acrylic paint together. Paint the front and back of the ornament with this color (this may require two coats). When painting, brush lightly over the stamped area to avoid getting too much blue paint into the imprint. Allow paint to dry.

Step 3 Using the fine detail brush, paint the imprinted snowflakes with white acrylic paint.

Allow the paint to dry completely. Once dry, use some Sculpey® Gloss Glaze, a little bit at a time, over the areas that are painted white. Sprinkle the metallic power over the areas where the glaze was applied (the glaze dries quickly, so only paint a little at a time to make sure the metallic powder sticks). Once you have glittered your snowflakes allow the ornament to dry completely.

Step 4 Add your ribbon through the hole and hang on your tree!
