Shell Stitch Cowl
Item# 33152In the foundation and following rows, take care not to allow twisting. Designed by Jackie Mallory.Row 1 Chain 80. Join to other end with sl st being careful to keep chain flat and not twisted.
Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc 4 more times in same space.(Shell made). Skip next 3 chains and 5 dc in 4th chain.
Note: each 5 dc = 1 shell. Continue in same manner around (20 shells). Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3 stitch. Ch 1, turn. Sl st once in top of each of next 3 sts, ch 3 and 4 dc in same sp.
Rows 2 – 15 Chain 3, 4 dc in same sp. Work a shell in middle stitch of next shell and each shell around. *Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3 stitch. Ch 1, turn. Sl st once in top of each of next 3 sts, ch 3 and 4 dc in same sp. Work a shell in middle stitch of each shell around. Rep from * around for each row, finishing with 15 rows.
Join with sl st and cut yarn. Weave in ends.
Cowl measures approximately 27" in circumference, and is approximately 10" tall.
