This sweet envelope is the perfect way to enclose any Valentine card for your special someone.
Project Instructions»

Step 1 Use the envelope template that comes with the scoring board to make the envelope. Place this template on the top corner of the scoring board. Use the template to decide what size paper you need to fit around a specific card. For example, for a 6" square envelope, start with a 10"x10" piece of cardstock.

Step 2 Cut the cardstock to size, according to the template, and place it along the edge of the template that contains measurements.

Step 3 Using the bone folder, score all four edges of the paper at the score lines the envelope template suggests.

Tip: Cut out the small triangle that is created at the edge of the piece of cardstock where two score lines meet. This will make folding the envelope easier.

Step 4 To round the points of the flaps of the envelope, take a small glass or cup and use its curved edge to trace a round line at the end of each flap. Cut along the rounded line.

Step 5 To line the envelope in patterned paper, use the envelope you created as a template. On a piece of paper from the Handmade Valentine paper pad, trace the opening flap and body of the envelope (no need to trace all the flaps). Your liner should look like a triangle on top of a rectangle. Make sure to mark where the liner needs to be scored, where the triangular flap meets the body of the envelope. Take the original envelope again and place it on the traced liner. Shift the original envelope down slightly so that there is a ¼" gap along the edge of the flap between the traced line and the envelope. Trace along the edge of the original envelope and cut out the patterned liner along this line. Score a line across the flap where it is appropriate.

Step 6 Place the patterned liner inside the envelope and tape down using the tape roller.

Step 7 Fold the envelope closed and secure with the tape roller.

Step 8 To make the heart closure, punch a few medium-sized hearts out of cardstock using the deep edge punch Heartbeat. Using adhesive foam dots, secure these hearts to the opening flap of the envelope and the body of the envelope so that they point towards each other and are approximately ½" apart.

Step 9 Use baking twine to wind carefully around the hearts to secure the closure.
