When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. STITCH EXPLANATIONS

Cl (cluster) Yarn over, insert hook in indicated st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through2 loops on hook (2 loops rem on hook), yarn over, insert hook in same st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

dc2tog (dc 2 sts together) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops. Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

hdc2tog (hdc 2 sts together) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all 5 loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

NOTES

1. The wave pattern is created by working sts of varying heights across rows.

2. Dc2tog and hdc2tog decrease the st count. In this pattern each dc2tog or hdc2tog is matched with a ch-1, to keep the st count the same for all rows.

3. Always work dc2tog and hdc2tog over the next 2 sts. The next 2 sts may be 2 sc or they may be a ch-1 and its matching dc2tog or hdc2tog.

4. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete st.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, change to B in last st.
