Spring Clay Pots

Materials

Apple Barrel Colors® Gloss Acrylic Paint – Pure Pink, White, Real Green, Golden Yellow, Sublime Lime, Bahama Blue
Paintbrushes – #1 Liner Brush, 1.3 cm (½") Flat Brush and #4 Round Brush
FolkArt® Spouncer™ – 6.4 cm (¼"), 1.9 cm (¾"), 3.2 cm (1¼")
Sharpie® Fine Point Marker – Black
Foam Plate
Brush Basin (or Water Container)
Paper Towels
Clay Pots – 15.2 cm (6") and 10.2 cm (4") (1 Ea.)
Clay Saucers – 13.3 cm (5¼"), 11.4 cm (4½") (1 Ea.)

Instructions

Daisy Pot

Step 1
Base coat outside of 15.2 cm (6") clay pot Sublime Lime and 13.3 cm (5¼") clay saucer Bahama Blue. Allow to dry.

Step 2
Load the 3.1 cm (1¼") Spouncer™ by dabbing in Golden Yellow; apply Spouncer™ to clay pot to create centres of daisy flowers. Use round brush to paint simple brushstroke petals around daisy centres, alternating white and Pure Pink. Use liner brush to paint simple stems, arms, and legs Real Green.

Step 3
Add face details to daisy centres; dot cheeks in Pure Pink, draw eyes and mouth with Sharpie® marker.

Step 4
Paint rim of clay pot and clay saucer white. Add stitch lines. Allow to dry.

Butterfly Pot

Step 1
Base coat outside of 10.2 cm (4") clay pot Bahama Blue and 11.4 cm (4½") clay saucer Sublime Lime. Let dry.

Step 2
Load Spouncer™ (of various sizes) by dabbing into desired paint colours; apply paint to clay pots in overlapping circles to form butterfly wings. Add dots down centre of butterfly wings then paint antennae. Repeat to create several butterflies around the pot. Add dots between butterflies in white.

Step 3
Paint rim of clay pot and clay saucer white. Add stitch lines. Allow to dry.
