Drawing on the basswood canvas, begin by drawing out the shape that you wish to cut out.
Drill a small hole in the center of your shape for the blade of your jigsaw or hand saw to fit through.
Begin to cut out your shape. Take your time and be careful.
After your shape is cut out you might want to sand the edges of your cut with a little sandpaper.
Clean your surface off and paint the entire canvas (inside and out) white. Note: be creative: you don’t necessarily have to use white.
After your canvas is all one solid colour and paint is dry, begin to coat the front and sides with Mod Podge®.
While still wet begin to glitter your project.
Repeat Steps 6-7 several times until you achieve desired glitter look.
While canvas is drying you can begin to string some pom poms. Cut length is based on the size of your shape plus 2.5cm (1").
When your glitter is dry you can begin to tape your pom pom strands in place from the back side. After taped in place, use hot glue to assure it stays.
Now cut a sheet of Recollections™ glitter paper to cover the back side.
Once cut to size, measure out 2.5cm (1") from the top edge and make sure it’s centered. Now punch a cut in this location.
After hole is punched, run a bead of hot glue along the edge of the back side of the canvas and glue your glitter sheet into place.
Allow to dry, clean up and hang.
