Clay Pot Valentine Love Bee

Materials

  • FolkArt® Acrylic Paints – Baby Pink, Licorice, Wicker White and Calico Red
  • Clay Pot, 10.2 cm (4")
  • Clay Pot, 5.1 cm (2")
  • Clay Saucer, 7.6 cm (3")
  • Creatology™ Chenille Stems – White, Black and Green
  • Creatology® Craft Foam – Red
  • Pencil
  • Paintbrushes – #12 Flat, 1.9 cm (¾") Flat and Liner
  • Celebrate It™ Lace, 10.2 cm (4")
  • Ribbon
  • Low Heat Glue Gun
  • Marker, Extra Fine – Black

Instructions

Step 1
Base coat both pots with Baby Pink. Base coat the saucer and inside the larger pot with Licorice. Allow to dry. Add Calico Red stripes to smaller pot.

Step 2
Add Wicker White eyes using a pencil eraser. Use a stencil brush and Calico Red to lightly paint cheeks. Use the liner brush and Licorice to paint the mouth. Add black dots to the centers of the white eyes with the end of the paintbrush.

Step 3
Glue the pots together, and then glue the body to the black saucer.

Step 4
Tie a lace bow for the wings and glue to the back.

Step 5
Glue a black chenille stem to the back of the bee for the arms and roll up ends.

Step 6
Glue two black chenille stems to the saucer for legs. Roll up the ends and bend at knee.

Step 7
Fold a green chenille stem in half and roll up the ends. Cut a heart from the red craft foam. Write “bee mine” with extra fine marker. Glue heart to the green chenille stem. Place in one bee hand.

Step 8
Fold white chenille stem in half and roll up ends for the antennas. Glue to the inside of front of pot.

Tips

Paint the rim of the larger pot red for extra colour.
