Project Instructions
Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F for 30 minutes per ¼" thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use.
Note: Make all pieces proportionate to the size of the body.

To make the body use Sculpey® III Chocolate. Make an oval and pinch both sides on top to create two ears and flatten the bottom so that the owl can stand up.
Using Sculpey® III Candy Pink, make two ovals and flatten them on your work surface. Use your fingers to shape the rounded edges and bring the other ends to a point for the wings.
Using Sculpey® III Candy Pink, shape a flat circle and cut off top part, using flat edge of plastic tool, for the tummy.
Using Sculpey® III Chocolate, make two small ovals and flatten the bottom for the feet.
Using Sculpey® III Black, make two tiny balls for the center of the eyes.
Using Sculpey® III Sky Blue, make two small round balls and flatten them for the eyes.
Using Sculpey® III Just Orange, make one cone for the beak and bend slightly.
Using the pointy end of the plastic tool, add details to the wings and tummy. Use the flat end of the tool to add detail to the eyes and feet.
Assemble Owl as shown. Attach wings, eyes, beak, tummy and feet by pressing firmly together.
Bake in home oven for 30 minutes at 275° F.
