The nib is very small and seems to scratch through to the surface of the work.

I tried this Foil Quill pen on several different substrates from smooth to rough surfaces, and the only substrate this pen worked well on was plain old typing paper. On other substrates, the transfer from the gold film was patchy at best, and non-existent on others.

This foil quill is perfect for quick foil writing on envelopes and cards! Makes small projects stand out. You will need to buy more foil since it comes with a very small amount, but it's still enough for a few small projects.

This is so great and easy to use to create foil designs. It didnt work on a velvet material I had but it works great on all other surfaces.

I really like this so far. For maybe touching up or adding some small details on a foiled piece. My only wish is that there was some sort of case that came with this product. Extremely minor detail but knowing that there’s a specific storage spot/case for this would have made this a 5star product for me. Even if it means to increase the price.
But the quality of the foiling is good. No issues that I’ve found so far
