These boxes have been a lifesaver for all my pictures.  Instead of flimsy paper envelopes, they are all stored in acid free little boxes that I can even label.

So first let me say that the dimensions they give for the small inner boxes is NOT accurate. They are not straight rectangles, they are indented on the sides. The USEABLE dimensions of the boxes is 7 1/8" x 5 1/8". (just a hair under 5 1/8, actually.) Since I planned on putting 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 inch envelopes in them, which would have fit in the dimensions listed, I started off disappointed. The envelopes did fit in the big box. The big box did not close properly. However I had already thrown away the wrapping, so I filed down the spot that got stuck so now it closes. The little boxes are VERY tight to open. One of the closures cracked the first time I opened it, so now one of the boxes only has one closure. So open the small boxes carefully, especially if they are hard to open. Also, a few of the small boxes do not sit flat when open. In the end, I got what I wanted, box for envelopes. And I have some spare small boxes for craft storage or photos or something (undecided). But it wasn't really worth what I paid for the box, and the quality has lots of room for improvement.

The concept is great. I have been using the Iris version, and then the previous Michaels version for a long time. Simple, inexpensive and compact storage for a number of items in my studio and they are clear so you can see what is inside. HOWEVER....
The closures on the interior boxes are very difficult to open. I finally resorted to pliers. Do not use your fingers or you will be injured. The closure on the outside box is very hard to line up so that it will close at all and the closure is the type that will likely stop closing securely over time. And finally, taking one of the inside boxes out usually knocks the rest of them out of alignment, so you will end up removing them all.
I can make it work...but it should work without any extra effort on my part. I will look for an alternate source for the original Iris boxes.
