I’ve had the foil tool for a few years now and love the projects I’ve made. I duplicate the foil lines, align center and attach them so that the machine goes over the lines twice. Just to make sure I get a good transfer. I haven’t had a bad transfer with this technique. Make sure your image is about 1/2 inch smaller than your piece of foil as I’ve noticed that it doesn’t transfer if the tool goes over the tape. I use with maker/maker3. I have also had great results with cricut cardstock. After doing the double layers I do get great results on other cardstock like park lane.

Seems this product is pretty hit-or-miss. Despite following instructions to a T, looking up countless online tutorials and consulting the Cricut troubleshooting page for the foil transfer, I haven't been able to get this product to work for ANYTHING. It transfers a little bit, and the reason it gets two stars is because when it DOES work, it's beautiful! But I can't get consistent results. I've tried different foils, different font types, different image types, fine, medium, and bold tip, different card stocks, all different pressure types... and it just doesn't seem to be working. I'm so disappointed because I wanted to use these for my wedding invitations and purchased 5 packs which is now a complete waste. I have the Explore 3 so I figured having one of the newer models I'd have little to no issues. I hope others can heed this warning- this product is for extremely advanced Cricut users in my opinion! And a lot of magic and luck to boot. I hope they improve this product because the idea is great, but the execution and success rate just is NOT worth the money.

The foil transfer kit is of good quality.  I used it to foil in the silver color a scripture reference.  I used the medium on the Cherry Veneer. It came out a little lighter than I expected.  But it is readable.

I immediately made a card with the new foil kit when it arrived.  Easy to use, and it looks so nice!!

I watched numerous YouTube videos and read through tutorials and didn't get a good outcome. I feel as though it was a wasted purchase.

I did have trouble with the tape holding it in place and it moved while the machine was trying to write what it was programed to do because the foil kept moving and messed everything up.  I haven't had a chance to try again.  It was probably me because it was my first time and the machine does take practice.
