This is a super-bright yellow gold hue. Very metallic and catches the light when dry. It made a brilliant contrast to the India ink black and muted tones of our other acrylic inks in the class art project. If you want a more muted gold, however, try a different color.

We used this in a blown ink project (using straws to blow the ink in abstract forms). The other non-metallic inks moved more readily across the paper; this one tended to spread more before it branched, and then made smaller branches. I assume it's because the metallic pigment affects the viscosity, though it was also a different brand (the others were Liquitex). Overall, it added an element of experimentation to the process and the end results were pleasing. The color wasn't a purely gray-silver--it had a very slightly greenish tint. Nice shimmery finish when dried.

I started taking classes that occasionally use acrylic inks as illustrative detail. It's so much fun to use! Either with the dropper or a brush, can really add some nice effects. I often go overboard because I like using it so much. So far I have the black, white and just added pearlescent purple on this visit. Love them all!

I absolutely love using these Pearlescent inks in my paintings, especially as an abstract first layer that adds a metallic shine that peeks through to the finished layer!
