Project Instructions

Step 1
Using Matte gel medium, paint over edges of pages (on sides, top, and bottom), allowing some to seep randomly into pages. Also paint on inside of both book covers, making sure to extend medium to edges. Close book tightly and smooth out any medium that has accumulated on edges of pages or on book covers.

Step 2
Place book under heavy object that covers entire surface of book cover and allow to dry for several hours at least. (Overnight is best.)

Step 3
Sand any rough spots on frame or small ornamental moldings with medium grit sandpaper. Wipe off dust with damp paper towel.

Step 4
Using ¾" brush, paint frame and molding White. (Use as many coats as needed to cover completely.)

Step 5
Using ¾" brush, paint frame and small ornamental molding either Pink Blast or with 1:1 mix of Orange and White (depending on which color you are using). (Use as many coats as necessary to cover completely.)

Step 6
Cut photo to fit into frame. Place photo into frame or remove frame backing and, using silicon adhesive, glue photo to back of frame.

Step 7
Using ¾" brush, paint at least two coats of White over entire book. (Add more coats if needed to cover completely.)

Step 8
Using ¾" brush, paint at least two coats of same color used to paint frame and molding. (Add more coats if needed to cover completely.)

Step 9
Arrange frame and molding on front of book as desired. Mark lightly with pencil. (Marks are just a guide; make sure they are hidden under frame and molding.)

Step 10
Using pencil marks as guide, glue frame and molding onto front cover of book with silicon glue. (Note: if molding is thicker than frame, glue frame on first, proceed to Step 11, and then glue molding into place.)

Step 11
Place under large, heavy object as described in Step 2 on book frame and allow to dry.

Tips

Place heavy object that covers entire surface when allowing book to dry.
