Michaels.com Purchases

With a Receipt (In Stores or Via Mail)

If your Michaels.com purchase does not meet your satisfaction, you may return it within 90 days of purchase. To return an item, the item must be new, unused and in its original packaging. You may return the item to a Michaels store or by mail. If you want to return an item by mail,

  1. Call Customer Care at 1-800-MICHAELS (1-800-642-4235).
  2. Our agent will prepare and provide a return shipping label via email.
  3. Print the return label and adhere it to your package.
  4. Drop-off the package at your nearest UPS location.

Without a Receipt (In Stores)

If you would like to return an item within 90 days of purchase but do not have the receipt, you will be required to present a valid photo ID. Acceptable forms of ID include U.S., Canada or Mexico Driver’s License, U.S. state-issued ID, Canadian Provincial ID, Passport or U.S. Military ID. The item value will be verified and retained by the Michaels associate.

Refunds

The appropriate tax amount by item will be included with your refund. Original shipping and handling fees (if applicable) may be deducted from the value of your refund unless the return is a result of our error. Refunds will be issued in the same form as payment originally used for purchase except as specified below:

  • Gift Cards: A Store/Gift Return Card will be issued for purchases made using a gift card.
  • PayPal: A Store Return/Gift Card or Cash (in-store only) will be issued for all purchases made using PayPal.
  • Gift Returns: A Store Return/Gift Card will be issued for gift purchases.

Exchanges

At this time we do not offer exchanges. If you would like to exchange a product, please return it using our returns process and then place a new order.


Michaels Store Purchases

With a Receipt

If your purchase does not meet your satisfaction, it may be returned or exchanged within 90 days of purchase. There is no requirement to provide identification, if accompanied by a valid receipt.

  • Michaels uses a Return Authorization System that validates your receipt.
  • All returns and exchanges must be new, unused and in original packaging, with exceptions for defective merchandise and products.
  • Refunds will be offered in the original method of payment, except;
  • Purchases made with a debit card will be refunded as cash.
  • A Store Return Card will be issued for all purchases made using a gift card and gift receipt.
  • Returns purchased with a check require a 10-day waiting period to process.
  • A receipt expires after 90 days and after that time your purchase can only be refunded following the criteria for Return without Receipt.

Return Without Receipt

A return without receipt or expired receipts over 90 days old are subject to the requirements of valid identification, pricing of refund and tender of payment noted below.

  • To return or exchange an item without receipt, you are required to present a valid photo ID (U.S., Canada or Mexico Driver’s License, U.S. state-issued ID, Canadian Provincial ID, Passport or U.S. Military ID.) that will be recorded at the time of the return.
  • Information from a customer ID will be retained in a secure database solely for purposes of refund authorization and fraud prevention.
  • Refunds will be given at the item’s lowest price sold within the previous 90 days.
  • Refunds will be in the form of a Store Return Card and/or merchandise exchange.

At this time we do not offer exchanges. If you would like to exchange a product, please return it using our returns process and then place a new order.

Exceptions to General Return Policy

Cricut® Products are returnable or exchangeable only if the packaging is unopened and you have a receipt. Items damaged or deemed defective during the manufacturer's warranty period must be returned directly to the manufacturer, except returns as required by law.

CUSTOM FRAMING – If for any reason you are not satisfied with your Custom Framing order, please return to the same store location to have the order reworked within 14 days of pickup.

CUSTOM FLORAL – If for any reason you are not satisfied with your Custom Floral Arrangement, please return to the same store location to have the order reworked within 7 days of pickup.

BOOKS – With receipt, are refundable within 30 days of purchase.

MAGAZINES – With receipt, are refundable within 1 day of purchase.

CLASSES – With receipt are refundable up to start date of class, in store only.

Gift Cards and Prepaid Cards are not returnable or exchangeable, except in states where required by law. See Terms and Conditions for more information.

Returns of Seasonal and Clearance Merchandise and Premade Handcrafted Floral Arrangements will only be accepted with a receipt within 60 days of purchase.

Michaels reserves the right to limit returns or exchanges.
