Starting from the bottom of the gift tube, select your desired color/pattern of washi tape and wrap the washi tape around the tube. Continue adding layers of washi tape, until the lower half of the gift tube is covered.

Fold one sheet of tissue paper in half horizontally.

Cut 2" tall fringe along the bottom of the tissue paper with fringe scissors, running the full length of the paper horizontally.

When the entire length has been fringed, cut the length with scissors, leaving a ½" space of uncut tissue paper along the top of the fringe. This uncut space is where you will apply the glue.

Separate the fringed layers very carefully to keep them from tearing.

Using a glue stick, apply a generous amount of glue in a single line around the gift tube, right above the last layer of washi tape. Do not cover the entire surface of the gift tube with glue; only a small line of glue where you will apply the fringe.

Adhere one layer of tissue paper, gluing the ½" uncut area, (not the fringed tissue) down onto the line of glue around the gift tube.

Repeat steps 6 and 7 two more times, but instead of applying the glue to the gift tube, apply the line of glue onto the top of the fringe layer you just adhered.

Note: You can apply as many layers as you like to get the desired fringe effect. We used three layers of fringe per row.

Choose another color of tissue paper for the second row of tissue fringe and repeat steps 2-8.

For the third and final row of tissue fringe, choose the same color you used for the first row or another color of your choice. Repeat steps 2-8.

Project Tip: We recommend starting from the bottom and working your way to the top of the gift tube due to the layers of tissue fringe.
