Material List

  • Patio Paint – Summer Sky Blue, Cloud White, Wrought Iron Black, Hydrangea Blue and Blue Bahama
  • Americana® Decoupage Glue, Matte Wood Birdhouse
  • Paintbrushes – ¾" Flat and #3 Round Brush
  • Water Container
  • Palette (or Plastic Plate)
  • Paper Towels
  • Scissors
  • Woodsies® Wooden Square, Small
  • Ribbon, 2" Each – Light Blue and Dark Blue
  • Pencil
  • Tape
  • Transfer Paper
  • Paper Cutouts of Words
 

Project Instructions

Step 1 Use ¾" flat brush to base coat as follows: walls, Blue Bahama; and roof, base, and perch, Hydrangea Blue.

Step 2 Trace and transfer bird designs and squiggles on walls.

Step 3 Use #3 round brush with Summer Sky Blue for bird’s body; Cloud White for hair, eye, and belly; Hydrangea Blue for beak and back wing; and Wrought Iron Black for eye pupils on birds on front and right side.

Step 4 Use same brush and Hydrangea Blue for squiggle on front, entrance, and houses on left side.

Step 5 Use #3 round brush and Cloud White for windows on houses.

Step 6 On left side, use same brush with Summer Sky Blue for bird and grass; Cloud White for eyes and shell; Blue Bahama for “Tweet” and egg highlights; and Wrought Iron Black for eyes.

Step 7 On back, use #3 round brush with Summer Sky Blue to fill in bird and then use Hydrangea Blue to fill in words. Outline with Summer Sky Blue

Step 8 Print off or cut out Tweeting or Internet Slang words.

Step 9 Apply Americana® Decoupage Glue with ¾" flat brush on roof and wet paper words. Position and adhere paper words to roof randomly and add more Decoupage.

Step 10 Adhere word or phrase to wooden square. Twist together ribbon pieces and adhere ends to back of square. Hang square on perch.

Tips

Allow to dry between steps.
