Finish this sentence: To me, creativity means….
It is what defines me, drives me – motivates me.

What type of projects do you do best?
The projects I do best are the ones I'm most passionate about. I've recently narrowed my focus to beading, art dolls, mixed media, with a bit of drawing and painting thrown in.

What would you consider to be your signature technique or tip?
Don't be afraid to try – just jump in and get started.

When did you first realize you were creative?
At a very young age. I remember in the 2nd grade the teacher had us draw to music in class and my picture was usually hung on the bulletin board. I came from a highly creative and artistic family on both sides and was encouraged to explore my talent.

What's the coolest thing you've ever created?
Usually the last piece I've finished or depending upon who you asked.

What inspires you to create?
Anything and everything inspires me. I get ideas from blogs, online sites, magazines, other artists, my art friends and family. I get inspired when I have a chance to browse through the aisles at Michaels. I also get some of my best ideas during my morning commute listening to music.

What was your biggest creative goof? How did you fix it?
I don't know what I would consider my biggest creative goof, as there is always a way to fix or cover up any mistakes – add another design element, a layer of paint, working with the goof and incorporating it with the piece or even just starting over.

When and where do you feel the most creative?
I'm the most creative when I get to sit down in my studio with the idea already in my head. Or after I've attended an artist convention or retreat or when my friends and I have an art play day.

How do you find the time to let your creativity loose?
I try to schedule at least one day on the weekends to spend in my studio creating. I bead in the evenings while watching television. I'm never without something to do whenever I have a spare minute.

What would be in your dream craft room/work space?
My dream craft room/work space would be a creative retreat with a huge work room with stations around the room for each type of craft, lots of tables with comfortable chairs in the middle with great lighting. It would be big enough to comfortably fit at least a dozen artists. It would need a sink and facilities for fabric dying. It would also have cabins for the artists to stay and outdoor areas to relax with a drink and enjoy the inspiration nature brings.

What tools and supplies do you always have on hand?
I have an extensive collection of tools and supplies. I may not have everything Michaels does in the store, but it seems like I'm not far off.

What's your favorite color?
Anything in the range of green to blue and everything between. My favorites are definitely the cool colors, however I do like to occasionally work outside of my color comfort zone and usually am very pleased with the results.

What projects are you working on now?
Two art dolls for fun and two sets of jewellery for custom orders. I just finished two art dolls that had been heads on sticks in my studio for months. I'm also starting to think about some fun little Halloween ideas.

If you had a $100 Michaels gift card, what would you buy?
Crackle medium, paper clay, polymer clay, Recollections embellishments, Halloween paper and decorations are on my list right now.
