Finish this sentence: To me, creativity means….
taking chances, trying new things, making inspiration and ideas into visual realities.

What type of projects do you do best?
I really enjoy painting. I'm most comfortable using markers and colored pencils. I'd define myself as an illustrator/ crafter.

What would you consider to be your signature technique or tip?
People always say I have a whimsical style. I like the things that I make to have a sense of humor to them. I'm not one of those deep thinking gallery artists. I like color and silly characters with personality.

When did you first realize you were creative?
I don't feel like I'm naturally any more creative than anyone else. My 3rd grade pictures of horses and trees were nothing out of the ordinary- truth be told they were probably worse than those of my peers- but I felt good when I was drawing- so I kept at it.

What inspires you to create?
I'm inspired by anything and everything- you never know what's going to trip your creative trigger.

What was your biggest creative goof? How did you fix it?
There's no such thing as a creative goof. Messes, yes, but goofs- no. Everything can be salvaged, altered and possibly made into something extraordinary you keep at it. I don't like erasers or crumpling up paper.

When and where do you feel the most creative?
I feel inspired to be creative when I'm around other people that are creative. Nobody can be creative or artistic in a vacuum. It takes ideas, images and surrounding yourself with inspiration.

How do you find the time to let your creativity loose?
Thank goodness I have a job where part of the job description requires being creative and thinking outside of the box everyday. Being artistic feels natural to me- it's not something I wanted to do- it's something I've always felt the need to do.

What would be in your dream craft room/work space?
I work in a dream space right now- lime green walls, a huge window with lots of natural light, my Cintiq, tons of storage space, an adjoining room with all of the glue, paper, glitter and embellishments I could ask for and surrounded the most talented people I know.

What tools and supplies do you always have on hand?
A sketchbook, marker paper, Prismacolor markers, soft drawing pencils and glitter just because I like it.

What's your favorite color?
It's always changing, currently I love lime green.

What projects are you working on now?
I just moved so I'm decorating my new apartment. I love moving and finding new spots for old stuff- it makes everything seem new again. I'm working on a gigantic painting for my living room.

If you had a $100 Michaels gift card, what would you buy?
I'd put it towards buying a Yudu. I worked in screen printing right out of college and I love the whole process. Being able to print anything I want at home with next to no mess sounds like a lot of fun and gets my craft show juices flowing.
