Step 1 Use X-ACTO® Designer Series retractable knife (with new blade) and ruler on cutting mat to cut 16" x 19" foam board (or piece that is 1" larger than game board to top and sides and 3"- 4" larger on bottom.) (Hint: Score lightly first and then press more firmly to cut deeper, with several passes of the knife. Replace blade often.) Position and use X-TREME™ school glue stick to glue game board to foam board, leaving 1" top and side borders and 3¾" at bottom.
Step 2 Write sport/sportsmanship words on paper and lay out tiles on game board to arrange. (Tip: Refer to photo for words or create your own.)
Step 3 Optional: To shade and further antique, ink tile edges by rubbing pigment pad along edges to darken. Use X-TREME™ school glue stick to attach each tile in place.
Step 4 Horizontally position and use hot glue to attach two tile holders with ends touching, 1¼" from bottom of foam board. Position family name tiles in holders. Either glue or leave loose for family to be able to interchange with messages, as desired.
Step 5 For hangers on back, measure and mark 2" down from top and 3" in from each side. Slightly separate curved ends of one paper clip ¼". On mark, hot glue bottom half of paper clip with single loop down, creating hanger loop with longer end of paper clip. Glue 2" square scrap paper, over glued end of paper clip. Repeat to attach other paper clip hanger.
