Perfect way to frame a certificate
These worked beautifully for my needs. I just had a few PTA awards to frame, and they worked well. They are understated, and they are easy to hang. The price was right for a pack of four, too.

You get what you pay for (and maybe less)
Many Michael's frames that I have purchased have been quite good for their price and matched the quality of more expensive frames. With the four-pack 8.5"x11" "Basics" frames, you get what you pay for (and possibly less). I bought four packs (a total of sixteen frames), so my experience is probably representative of the product and not a "one-time deal." Issues I encountered:
- The frame is made of flimsy plastic. Plastic is to be expected at this price, but the material is so flimsy that it warps and is noticeably concave even when the glass and art is inserted into the frame. This makes the frame extremely distracting if the art contains any sort of geometric elements such as horizontal or vertical lines. Many of the frames in my packs had very visible scuffs.
- Some of the glass was very dirty, which required cleaning before use (no big deal since you should be cleaning all of your glass), but when I removed the glass from the frames, I discovered that the cutting of the glass was extremely poor quality. The edges and corners of the glass were often chipped, and there were gouges or scratches on some of the glass.
- The metal tabs on the back of the frame push your art against the glass very tightly, which in my case made my art grind against the glass and incurred some damage on the surface of the art I was framing. I ended up having to re-make some of the art and bend the tabs with pliers so that they wouldn't be as springy. After that, I had to secure down the tabs with tape so that they would stay put. I am not sure that overmatted work would fit well in these frames. (I would not put any valuable art in these frames! Even a child's drawing would probably be damaged!)
To be clear, I wasn't expecting something incredible, but the frames were disappointing even given their low price. They were certainly close to the minimum threshold of quality of something that I would use regardless of the price (even if they were free). Given that Michael's sells frames that are not that much more expensive but a whole lot better, I would advise against buying these frames unless you're strapped for cash and need a lot of frames.

Save money - Buy in bulk.
The marketing sense to sell a package of 4 frames for a lower price not only allows customers a cheaper price for a quality product but also maintains some uniformity in frame size and style for easier display. Only one pack on shelf
I have many of these from you- I've been putting together a mancave. I'm there a lot and use every coupon I can get. Only one 4- Pk on shelf. Happens a lot. I needed more. Paid for it- I had coupons- I was only given 40% off- paid $14 for it. It's real confusing as I usually pay about $11 for that with coupons. I have trouble with talks math.

Exactly what I was looking for
This is the perfect basic frame! Clean lines, built well, and my favorite thing is that the fasteners are VERY STURDY, which can sometimes be hard when buying simple frames. 10/10 would stock up on these.
