I keep buying more...
These cute little birdhouses first kept me busy when I got hurt at work and had to stay home. When covid hit a few months later I continued painting them for my family, friends, and colleagues. I use acrylic paint and a spray polyurethane when i finish so they can be places outside. The reason I say good not excellent is some of the wood pieces are splintery... particularly on the chimney or fence. But they are so inexpensive they are totally worth the price.

So fun to paint!
Social distancing with kids is hard but we managed to have a social distancing birdhouse painting party with a neighbor child inside the garage. Used a 6ft banquet table, and squirted craft acrylic paint onto pallets for each child so no touching the paint bottles. Each had their own set of brushes and brush rinsing water jugs made from recycled water/milk jugs. They had a blast for a couple of hours! The mini birdhouses can be attached to a dowel then stuck in the ground in the garden, or hung on a longer rope from a tree branch for decoration. I sprayed them with 2 coats of clear poly acrylic to preserve them. We learned that these tiny houses might be good for carpenter bee houses, since they are too tiny for birds.

Class project
We did this in the kids craft corner and it was awesome. After finishing, I spray them to be outside. They looked really nice and a great afternoon project.

Easy to work with and decorate
I bought a total of 9 birdhouses and used 8 of them for a Christmas garland. My wife loved it so much she wanted to leave it up. I will be purchasing 8 more of these houses for a seasonal garland for the wife to ejnjoy.

Mini Bird Houses
I made my 1st into a feeder by smearing peanut butter & bird seed on the outside. The birds LOVED it, but w/ the recent rains, the glue holding the wood pieces together, let go. I found the bird house in 3 pieces, 1 still hanging & the other 2 on the ground. Looks like it isn’t meant for the outdoors until the dryer weather arrives.
