Great for Adding Mosaic Tiles
Because of the design, this birdhouse lends itself to being covered with mosaic tiles. I've done two of them already and this will be my third. I'm hoping that because of the weatherproof glue that I used on the glass and tiles and then with the grout that covers them, there won't be a problem with weathering. I used outside paint to do the roof, base and perch. They're just really cute, so I certainly hope they hold together, since many reviews said they didn't.

Bad Glue Used
The glue used to hold this gazebo bird house together is very cheap glue not made to withstand the outdoors. I put birdhouse out and it lasted 3 weeks before it began to fall apart at the areas where is was glued on.

Holes are too small for birds, not outdoor ready.
If you plan to use them for their intended purpose, then additional work is involved. If the holes on any of these birdhouse are less than 1 3/4 inches in diameter, you can pretty much forget them being occupied. I had to over-drill the holes larger to correct this. The material is not weather friendly after being painted. I suggest you line the bottom panel edges with lines of wood glue before painting. After the painting is done, the entire unit needs a coat of sealer (I use semi-gloss polyurethane). Also keep in mind that if the thing is too small overall, it will also not be occupied - so the little cutesy ones are really for decoration only. I found out all this the hard way...
