Probably not functional as an actual bird house, but I doubt anyone's buying it for that purpose. I added artificial snow for a really cute Christmas center piece. If you like to do decorative painting projects for your home, buy this - really cute and reasonably priced.

Despite looking fragile, it is very strong. The structure is very well put together (no uneven edges) and the "accessories" like the fence, are well-glued. I have not painted it yet - waiting until the house deal is finished - but I'm looking forward to it. The surface of the house is very smooth and seems as if it would be easy to paint. The kids were delighted with it!
