Great for burning letters into....
Used this to make a Harry Potter sign & bought the wood-burning tool also, this wood ‘burns’ nicely with the tool to create a cool plaque or decoration!

wood smooth, put mod podge on wood, print photo on it, dry overnight, wash sponge to peel paper off, brush mod podge, 2 little screw with hool to hang on wall .. done

this could have great features
when I took off the wrapping there was a big knot in the center, and since I was going to draw on it , I can't use it. you couldn't see the defect because the wrapping covered it up.

great smooth surface! only problem is the edges are so fragile that when you remove the packaging, half of the wood edges fall off. disappointed with that part

Unfortunately after opening the wrapped plaque there was a wood knot on both sides of the item ... the tag covered the area so it was not visible .. was not happy with the oroduct

Great Item
This item is great for getting a real looking piece of wood without having to break out your chainsaw. The edges are very real looking and sometimes even have mossy stuff on the bark. The surface is very smooth and great for wood burning. It burns very quickly and easily, producing a nice finished product.

Quality
I am greatly disappointed in the quality of wood sold to Michaels from walnut hollow. I can only assume Michaels is buying the lowest price product possible from this company.. I have bought this product for years from Michaels and other craft and wood stores and found the product to be of very good quality. So guess its quantity instead of quality for Michaels. I've been buying this product else were. I wouldn't put time into a project on such poor substandard wood.
