
bat and ghost cookies
Step 1 |
Follow directions on sugar cookie mix to make dough. |
Step 2 |
Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll out your cookie dough into 1/8" (0.3 cm) thick. |
Step 3 |
Dip the ghost and bat cookie cutters into flour and cut shapes. Transfer your cookies shapes to the prepared baking sheets. Reroll scraps and cut more bat and ghost shapes. Continue to repeat with any remaining dough. |
Step 4 |
Bake cookies as directed on cookie mix bag. |
Step 5 |
Add the #2 tips to two decorating icing bags. Fill one bag with white royal icing and then a bag of white flow icing by adding ½ tsp of water to royal icing until it is thin enough to flow. |
Step 6 |
Repeat Step 5 with black royal icing. Make the black by dipping a toothpick into black icing color and mix well with the white icing. |
Step 7 |
Use your regular white icing to outline each ghost cookie and then fill the outline with the flow royal icing from second bag. Repeat with the black icing to decorate the tops of the bats. Let dry completely. |
Step 8 |
Take the black fondant and press into the alphabet candy mold. Spell out the letters B,O,O. Pop the letter of the mold. Let the letters dry. Then use white icing to attach the letters onto the ghosts. Repeat for the letters S,P,O,O,K,Y with white fondant for the bats. |
Step 9 |
Finish the cookies by adding eyes using the black round sprinkles for the ghosts and silver round sprinkles for the bats. Attach sprinkles by adding a dot of icing. |
