GAUGE: 9 sts and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Seed St pat with 2 strands held tog; save time and check your gauge

INSTRUCTIONS:

With 2 strands of MC held tog, cast on 108 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:

Row 1: (RS). *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. K1.

Note that Row 1 is RS row. Rep this row for Seed St Pat. Cont in Seed St Pat until work from beg measures 28" [71 cm], ending on a RS row.

Break 1 strand of MC. Join 1 strand of A. With 1 strand each of MC and A, cont in Seed St Pat until work from beg measures 35" [89 cm], ending on a RS row.

Break MC. Join 1 strand of A. With 2 strands of A, cont in Seed St Pat until work from beg measures 42" [106.5 cm], ending on a RS row.

Break 1 strand of A. Join 1 strand of B. With 1 strand each of A and B, cont in Seed St Pat until work from beg measures 49" [124.5 cm], ending on a RS row.

Break A. Join 1 strand of B. With 2 strands of B, cont in Seed St Pat until work from beg measures 56" [142 cm], ending on a RS row.

Cast off knitwise.

Tassels (make 6 each with MC and B): Wind yarn 70 times around a piece of cardboard that’s 6" [15 cm] wide. Break yarn, leaving a long end, and thread the end through your needle. Slip the needle through all loops at one end of the cardboard, then tie it tightly. Remove the cardboard and set it aside. Wrap more yarn tightly around the tassel 1" [2.5 cm] below the tie you just made. Fasten this wrapped yarn securely. Cut through the rem loops at the bottom of the tassel and trim the ends evenly. Rep to make rem tassels. Sew 6 MC tassels evenly spaced across cast on edge, and 6 B tassels evenly spaced across cast off edge.
