bright spring slime

This cheerful slime is just the thing for spring! All of its color comes from glitter, so no food coloring is needed. That means it’s extra easy to make, and perfect for the littlest slime lovers. For a bit of extra excitement, add bright pops of colors with pony beads and pom-poms, just like we’ve done here.
Step 1
Project Notes:
   -  You can mix and match any type of Elmer’s® glue for this recipe. We used one 5 fl. oz. bottle of clear glue. If you’d like your slime to look like ours, that’s what we recommend you use, too.
   -  When you’re crafting with little ones, keep an eye on the tiny mix-ins, since these may present a choking hazard.
   -  When making slime, be smart and protect your work surface with wax paper (or palette paper). You also may want to wear an apron (or other protective garment) to avoid slime-related accidents.
   -  This bright spring slime is made from one small batch of clear slime. So, start out by finding your favorite clear glue slime recipe. You’ll follow the recipe’s instructions for mixing up the slime, then add mix-ins according to our instructions below.

Follow your recipe’s instructions to make the batch of clear slime. You won’t add any food coloring to this slime. (Although if you want to, that’s ok!) All the color will come from the glitter and mix-ins that you add afterward.

TIP: Looking for good slime recipes? Elmer’s® has a ton. Check them out by clicking here.

Step 2
Flatten out your slime on a piece of wax paper (or palette paper) and sprinkle on lots of iridescent pink glitter. Fold the slime’s edges in toward the center to blend the glitter into the slime.
Step 3
Repeat this technique to add one package of bright pom-poms to the slime. Do the same to add the pretty glitter pony beads. Continue folding and stretching until all pom-poms, pony beads and glitter are evenly distributed throughout the slime.

TIP: To store your slime for a few hours, place it into a treat bag. Twist and close the opening, then secure with a twist tie; however, if you plan to keep your slime for more than a few hours, it will keep best when stored in an airtight, sealable container (or a re-sealable plastic bag).
