caron® latte cakes™ ripple effect crochet cowl
A soft and generous cowl to wear long and loose or wrapped double for extra warmth. Made up of double and single crochet and front and back post stitches, the crochet ripple stitch accentuates the self-striping effect of the yarn.

Row 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch-3 counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Dc5tog. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. *5 dc in next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Dc5tog. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Rep from * to last ch. 3 dc in last ch. Turn. Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in first dc. 1 scfp around each dc to last st. 1 sc in top of ch-3. Join B. Turn. Row 3: With B, ch 3. 2 dc in first sc. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts. Dc5tog. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts. *5 dc in next st. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts. Dc5tog. 1 dc in each of next 3 sts. Rep from * to last st. 3 dc in last sc. Turn. Row 4: Ch 1. 1 sc in first dc. 1 scbp around each dc to last st. 1 sc in top of ch-3. Join A. Turn. Row 5: With A, as Row 3. Rep Rows 2 to 5 for pat until work from beg measures approx 60” [152.5 cm] ending on Row 4. Fasten off. Sew foundation ch and last row together to form loop. Side Edging: Note: Work around yarn carried up side from color changes when working edging. Join yarn with sl st to side edge of Cowl at seam. Rnd 1: Ch 1. Work sc evenly around side edge of Cowl. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Rep for opposite side edge of cowl. |
