castles and princesses: playing card knight
This card's suit is made of armor thanks to some crafting fun from Camp Creativity.
Step 1 |
Print templates from michaels.com and cut out. |
Step 2 |
Trace a cape pattern from either red or black construction paper. Cut out. Glue to the back of a playing card so that the top of the heart extends over the top of the card approximately ½". Fold the ½" over the card to the front and glue. |
Step 3 |
Cut a chenille stem in half to make arms and jousting stick. Glue 1 piece of the chenille stem halves across the center of the back of the playing card, near the top, and bend it toward the front to make the arms. |
Step 4 |
Trace and cut 4 small hearts from black construction paper. Fold and glue a heart to each end of the chenille stem arms to create the hands. Glue the remaining 2 small black hearts to the end of the remaining half of the chenille stem to make the knight's jousting stick. Attach the two hearts back-to-back with the chenille stem end in the middle. |
Step 5 |
Trace and cut out a large heart from black construction paper for the hood and a smaller heart from pink construction paper for the face. Glue the heart to the top of the card, upside-down, as shown. Attach the smaller pink heart, right-side up, to the front of the black hood to create the face. Draw and color a tiny red heart mouth. |
