You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
Project Notes: To make a small pumpkin, you will need a total of four chenille stems and one wood spool. To make a large pumpkin, you will need a total of seven chenille stems and two wood wheels. |
Step 2 |
Small Pumpkin: ADULT: Hold three chenille stems in your hand and fold them in half. Cut along the fold with wire cutters. Place the tip of a chenille stem into the bottom hole of a wooden spool, about ½". |
Step 3 |
Bend the chenille stem up, forming a half circle, and place the end of the chenille stem into the top hole of the wooden spool. Repeat four more times. |
Step 4 |
ADULT: Measure and cut a 3" length from a green chenille stem and twist the length around a pencil to form a curlicue. Wrap one end of the curlicue stem around the top of the wood spool, wrapping the stem around the chenille stems to help hold them in place. |
Step 5 |
Large Chenille Pumpkin: Stack two wood wheels onto the end of a chenille stem so that the tip of the chenille stem is level with the top of the wood wheel. Bend the chenille stem up, forming a half circle, and place the end of the chenille stem back down into the wood wheels through the holes. Repeat five more times. |
Step 6 |
ADULT: Measure and cut a 3" length from a green chenille stem and twist the length around a pencil to form a curlicue. For a different look, secure the curlicue to the top of the pumpkin with a clothespin. Share your project photos with #MadeWithMichaels |
