How to Draw Fabric, Part I

Learn the fundamentals of capturing the soft and fluid texture of fabric in dramatic lighting using Artist's Loft Graphite in part one of this two part class. The instructor will map out the essential lines of the fabric pictured in the reference images provided along with the supply list. Next, the instructor will guide students through the process of drawing contour lines that show the elevational shifts in the fabric folds. Then, students will begin to add value using soft tonal shading using a variety of graphite pencils. Students will complete this drawing in the second part of this class continued the following week.
