Painting a Sunset, Part II: Blending & Layering With Acrylic

In part two of this two part class, the instructor will build on the skills and steps in part one with a focus on blending layers of color in the sunset sky with acrylic paint. To paint a convincing sunset sky, it is important to layer colors from light to dark in order to preserve the lightest colors in the sky. The instructor will demonstrate this process as well as the appropriate times to wait for layers to dry and the appropriate times to work quickly in order to properly blend color layers and create a gradient in the sky. Lastly, the instructor will share tips for adding finishing touches and flourishes which can be made with paint and liner paintbrushes or the optional use of acrylic paint markers.
