About

Join Lauren Quigley for a hands-on crystal flatback workshop that shows you how to fully cover everyday objects with precision and polish. In this class, you will transform a classic bottle of Mod Podge into a crystal covered keepsake while learning professional techniques you can apply to any surface.

Lauren walks through stone sizing, coverage planning, and pattern building, including how to create clean outlines and a seamless honeycomb layout. You will learn how to calculate how many flatbacks you need per square inch, why mixing stone sizes matters, and how to fill gaps so the finished piece looks intentional and smooth.

This workshop is perfect for makers who love detail driven projects and want to learn how to bling objects for décor, gifts, or statement pieces. The skills taught here easily transfer to jars, trays, frames, accessories, and more using Bead Landing Flatback Rhinestones and basic blinging tools available at Michaels.

By the end of the workshop, you will have a finished crystal covered keepsake and the confidence to crystal coat just about anything in your craft space next.

Extra PDF

We have a “How to Bling Anything Applications Guide For Michaels Stores.” Flatback fill patterns are shown in this booklet along with many other tips.

The PDF is linked here.

Tip

There are many glues that work for this technique. We have two recommendations in the shopping list. Just be sure to pick up glue that dries clear and that is appropriate for the surface you are gluing rhinestones too. The same techniques can be used for fabric, and there are fabric glues that work well also.

Find all the supplies at your local Michaels Store or online at Michaels.com. Most of the supply links have drop down menus, so you can see more than one color by clicking on the link. We also have added some extra options, but you do not need to purchase everything.
