About
Part II of a two-part class. Instructor Adrienne Hodge will teach you how to paint a still life in watercolor with a focus on value shapes using instructor-provided photos that extensively highlight and emphasize these organic value shapes. The instructor will briefly review the steps covered in part I and continue guiding students through the process of layering different values shapes of colors found in the reference photos. Special attention will be paid to transitional moments in this image and the importance of letting each layer of watercolor dry before moving on to the next one. There will also be an emphasis on how to use high contrast values to create depth and interest in a still life painting.
