Oil pastels
Four year olds don't have the strength yet to use pressure on crayons, but using the oil pastels gives the children an opportunity to get bold colored art pieces.

Great for New Learners
Inexpensive way to introduce folks to oil pastels without spending a lot of money. A very good set is pricey if the person does not like the medium after all. Good quality for the price.

Not bad
I was terrible with these but my students were able to make some really interesting art.
I didn't think much of these when I first tried them, they seemed too waxy and clumpy but several of my students (elementary thru it high aged) were able get some pretty quality results.
