Fall weather means football is here! Now’s the perfect time to celebrate your favorite team and player with a personalized T-shirt. It’s easy to make with your Cricut® machine – just create your design, cut it out and iron it on! We’ve got all the steps you need in our instructions below, so let’s DIY!   Step 1 First, open up Cricut® Design Space™ and create your design. When you’re done, click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. Step 2 In your preview screen, check ‘Mirror’ in the left panel to reverse your image. TIP: You’ll always want to do this for any iron-on projects that include words. Reversing the image before your cut it out ensures that your image’s words will read the correct way once you iron them on. Step 3 Now, click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen and choose your material. For this project, you’ll want to choose ‘Foil Iron-On’. TIP: Always make sure to select the most accurate material available for your Cricut® projects, so your machine knows how deep to cut into your material. Step 4 Place the iron-on material onto your cutting mat, shiny-side down. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. Step 5 Once your machine is done, use scissors to cut away the vinyl around your design. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your letters and shapes. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheet, which is slightly sticky. Step 6 Flip your carrier sheet so it’s sticky-side down and place it onto your shirt. You should be able to read your text through the carrier sheet just as it will appear once ironed. Make sure the text is centered, straight and exactly where you want it. Step 7 Ready to iron on the design? Before you do, cover it with an ironing cloth (or a bandana). Then, follow the instructions included with your iron-on material’s packaging to press the design onto the shirt with your iron. Step 8 Almost done! Carefully peel back one corner of the carrier sheet to see whether the iron-on material has bonded to the fabric of your shirt. Once you’re sure it’s bonded, slowly peel away the entire sheet of clear plastic. TIP: Is your design peeling up along with the carrier sheet? No worries! Just replace the iron for another 35 seconds to make sure the bond’s secure.
