Description

With the perfect blend of a delicate grip and increased strength of durability, the FabricGrip Mat secures your fabric and resists the cutting force of the Rotary Blade. This specialty mat is made from higher-density, higher-quality PVC to withstand increased cutting pressure. Its adhesive grip keeps fabrics in place for precise cuts and easy release. Use it to cut silk, canvas, burlap, cotton, and more. Place fabric on the mat, and press to smooth down and secure. If adhesive is weakened, use brayer, rolling pin, or other tube-shaped object to help secure material. For best results, use the Cricut Applicator & Remover Set for quick and easy material application and to remove tiny cuts and threads. Replace your cutting mat when needed and use protective sheet to keep clean when not in use.

Cricut® FabricGrip™ Mat, 12" x 24" is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from FabricGrip Mat for Cricut Maker I realized fast that my mat was not going to stay sticky with all the quilting I do and did not want to replace all the time. Put it in the sink, warm water, soft sponge and all the lint came off. Have not replace on in months. Works great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor adhesive The long mat, required for cutting fabric on quilting projects, does not keep its adhesive through all of the cuts needed for one quilt. For the last three fabrics, I used a second long mat with greater sticky-ness. I don't think it saves as much time as I had hoped since you have to cut the fabric into 12 inch sections, then hand cut the 3 or 4 that did not stick and were sliced up. Yes, I used the brayer. An experienced quilter is better off with hand cutting. Newbies will get some benefit in accuracy if you have patience with changing mats for each set of cuts. Example, my small quilt required 26 mats of fabric to cut all pieces. I have one mat. Maybe a different adhesive or a way to spray the mat with adhesive to refresh it?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from loses stick really fast, frays fabric I really wanted to love the new maker for fabric (quilting) cuts, but unfortunately its just not working out as well as i had hoped. This mat loses its stickiness really fast. I have two of the larger sizes and a smaller one, rotating between the three the stickiness is almost gone after making just one baby quilt. at this rate i'd have to buy a couple new mats with every quilt. quilting is already a fairly expensive hobby, the added expense likely won't be worth it. the fabric also tends to fray a lot even with careful removal. this is not a huge deal, but makes for a sloppy project. overall fairly disappointed. I think it will be great for other materials and crafts, but unfortunately I purchased it mostly for quilting. Hopefully cricut will improve this mat, or minimally come out with some useful maintenance tips. On the upside, the cuts are generally very accurate (unless the fabric comes loose from the mat while cutting due to loss of stickiness) and it can draw accurate sew lines with a fabric pen which i find very useful.
