Step 1
Project Note: There are four shades of purple in the pack. Throughout the instructions the colors will be referred to as A-D from light to dark, as packaged in the value pack.

Use the paper trimmer to cut the following squares from cardstock:
  • Darkest Purple (D) = (18) 4" squares
  • Next Shade Lighter (C) = (18) 4" squares
  • Second Lightest (B) = (15) 4" squares
  • Lightest Color (A) = (9) 4" squares and (6) 3" squares
Step 2
The wreath will be assembled darkest to lightest. Roll each square of cardstock into a cone. It will be open at the top and closed at the bottom. Using the hot glue gun, carefully apply glue under the seam and press it closed.

TIP: Take each square of paper by one corner, lay it on the table at the edge and pull down with one hand while holding with the other to create a slight curl to the paper. This will make rolling it into a cone easier.
Step 3
Once the cones have all been made, you can start to assemble the wreath. Using the cake circle, sketch a circle about 2" in from the edge. This is where you will line up the tip of the cones. Begin with the darkest color (D). Pinch the bottom of a cone flat and glue it onto the cardboard with the tip at the pencil line. Continue gluing the cones around the circle leaving about a finger width space in between each cone.
Step 4
For the second row, place the next darkest cones (C) in between the spaces to create a layered effect. Pinch the bottom of the cone flat and glue into place.
Step 5
For the third row, place the second lightest cones (B) in between the spaces to create a layered effect. Pinch the bottom of the cone flat and glue into place.
Step 6
For the fourth row, place the lightest cones (A) in between the spaces to create a layered effect. Pinch the bottom of the cone flat and glue into place.
Step 7
Finally glue (5) of the 3" cones around the center, then glue the final one in the center.

TIP: Use a hair dryer over the wreath to help remove the glue strings from the hot glue.
Step 8
Turn the wreath over and glue ribbon to the back, leaving a loop to hang the wreath.
