You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
Cut the head off of two head pins to make two long wires. |
Step 2 |
With the first long wire, make a simple loop at one end of the wire. TIP: Form a simple wire loop by grasping the end of the wire between the jaws of a pair of round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire until a small loop is formed. |
Step 3 |
Wrap the wire around the barrel of a Sharpie® marker to form a circle. TIP: Use your fingers to shape around the marker. |
Step 4 |
Slide off of the marker, trim wire on the opposite end, even to the simple loop. |
Step 5 |
Slightly bend the wire about ¼" from end opposite the eye pin loop to complete the base of the ear wire. Set aside. |
Step 6 |
With the second wire, make a simple loop on one end of the wire. |
Step 7 |
Thread on a metal rondelle, open side up, and a skull bead. Make another simple loop under the skull bead. Trim excess wire. |
Step 8 |
Open the loop slightly on the ear wire, slide on the loop at the top of the metal rondelle and close loop. Set aside. |
Step 9 |
Slide a clear teardrop bead onto a head pin. Make a simple loop on top and trim excess wire. |
Step 10 |
With excess wire from the teardrop link, make a simple loop at one end. Before closing the loop, slide onto the loop on top of the teardrop link. Close the loop. |
Step 11 |
Thread on an acrylic rose bead and make a simple loop on top of the rose. Before closing the loop, thread onto the loop below the skull bead and close loop. Trim excess wire. |
Step 12 |
Repeat Steps 1-11 for a second earring. |
Step 13 |
Add a drop of glue into the eye sockets of the skull beads and place a light rose crystal over the glue in each socket. Let dry. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
