Deco Lights™ Silicone String Lights - 50 Brown Bulbs, Brown Cord is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A huge hit for Christmas The Good: The somewhat dim and orange flame look were an amazing addition to our very rustic/primitive looking Christmas tree. We had so many comments on how different (in a good way) these were from the average Christmas lights. Each bulb did look more like a tiny flame on the tree rather than a light. It's best if you keep your room lights somewhat low or the light from these bulbs can kind of disappear into the tree. The So-So: I was originally put this under the bad but it really isn't. More an inconvenience or additional expense maybe? With the much dimmer light these bulbs put out compared to regular Christmas lights you'll need more than normal. A lot more. We have a 7.5 foot tree and ordered 900 bulbs. At first my wife, the tree designer, thought I was nuts as a 7.5 tree should only need 750 bulbs but I had a hunch. I was right. We would up ordering 100 more just to make it to the top without a huge amount of bare spots. That being said there were definitely bare spots on the tree which is good for Consumer Crafts as we've decided to order 500 more to make the number of lights 200 per foot. The Bad: These lights don't link end to end and the maximum number you can connect plug to plug is three strands. Luckily we have a double plug behind the location where we put out tree. Our solution was to put a power strip on the floor to handle the lower 1/4 of the tree then zip tied brown extension cords to the 3/4, 1/2 & 1/4 mark on the back of the tree to plug in the strands. We did check the cords and extension cords and at no time did any of them feel the least bit warm. It's just a royal pain to do the extension cords. It would be a lot more convenient if the strands would plug end-to-end. In the end I have to say. The good and the so-so outweigh the bad by SO much the inconvenience of having a gazillion cords everywhere is 100% worth it. I wish I kept track of how many people told us how amazing our tree was.
