Frank A. Edmunds Company™ Universal Craft Stand is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good idea, need workaround to hold a scroll bar Very convenient for no-hands cross stitching. Unfortunately there are definite issues using a scroll bar. In order to hold the weight, the wing nuts/screws must be tightened down significantly. (The suggestion in the packaging of using rubber bands did not work at all, at least not in any way that I could figure out). However, tightening the nuts tilts the bottom board (when the scroll bar is in place, the two boards holding the scroll bar are at a definite angle. This is a problem when trying to remove or adjust the boards. The angle forces the screws back into the wood, so that trying to loosen the wing nuts moves the nuts down, but leaves the board in place, secured by the friction of the nuts/board. It took a huge amount of strength to pry the two boards apart. I tried lots of things to make this work. The best was putting a stack of index cards at the back of the scroll bar, so that when the wing nuts are tightened down, the two boards stay straight, there's no angle, and the boards can be loosened when necessary. Not exactly an elegant solution, and it took some work to get the right size stack of index cards. (Too many, can't get the boards tight enough, too few, same original problem of angling the boards.) All in all, I like the way it works, but I can't think of any way to make it work more conveniently with a scroll bar. If the manufacturer has some suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Embroidery Stand Great idea, except I can't use with my jean jacket embroidery project. If the spacing between the screws was wider for my jacket to fit in, it would be prefect. Actually, I was told at the store this stand will work on my project. It didn't. I'll keep the stand for future projects. My hands are pretty much atrophied. So, holding a hoop and needle can be difficult. Please rethink this stand, for others like me. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this for my cross stitch projects. Love it, because you don't have to hold your hoop or scroll in your hand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does It's Job Was desperate for a craft stand and thought this would be good. I have a very large, plastic scroll bar set, which slips in the stand quite a bit, but does what I need. I use rubber bands or plastic bags to help it stay in place. Biggest drawback is that it doesn't flip to the back side of your cross stitch, which i wish I paid attention to before buying. I have to unscrew my scroll bars to access the back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stitching aid I use this product often and my only complaint in getting closer to the project. I would like it to slide under my chair further. I bit tipsy if I leave it extended. But gives me ease of use for many projects
