metal stamped personalized gold block necklace

Step 1
Cut a short length of tape and tape down a gold-plated pendant blank onto a steel block.
Step 2
Find the letters for the first name to be stamped and align letter stamps, one at a time, along the center of the block blank. Strike the top of the letter stamp one or two times with a brass mallet. Stamp a heart at the end of the name.

TIP: For best results, try to hit the letter stamp in the center of the brass mallet for an even imprint.
Step 3
Turn the block on its’ side and repeat Step 2 for a second name and heart, if desired.
Step 4
Apply a thin coat of black enamel on top of the letter imprint. Wipe excess enamel away with a paper towel. Set pendant aside.
Step 5
Cut desired length of chain, minus 1", with jewelry cutters from the tool kit.

TIP: You will want to cut the chain an inch short of desired length, because you will add the inch back with the lobster clasp and jump rings.
Step 6
Add a lobster clasp to one end of the chain with a jump ring.

TIP: To open and close a jump ring, simply grasp the jump ring on both sides with chain nose pliers and twist the ring open side-to-side. Never pull the jump ring, which can cause distortion.
Step 7
Slide the pendant onto the chain from the opposite end of the chain from the clasp.
Step 8
Add a jump ring to the opposite end of the chain from the clasp.
Step 9
