Beginner
You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
Cut a piece of watercolor paper down to size of your planner cover. TIP: Use the original cover that came with your planner as a template. |
Step 2 |
Add a small dab of each paint color to a piece of palette paper. |
Step 3 |
Fill the cavity of the water brush with water and lightly brush water over the watercolor paper. |
Step 4 |
Water down the paint on the palette paper and paint an abstract watercolor background onto the watercolor paper. Let dry. |
Step 5 |
Place feather masking shapes as desired over watercolor design. Paint the entire piece of watercolor paper, including the feathers, with white paint. Carefully peel the feathers from the paper and let dry. TIP: Use a toothpick to help lift the feather masking shapes from the paper. |
Step 6 |
Add rub-ons as desired. |
Step 7 |
Cut two pieces of self-laminating sheets ½" larger than the watercolor paper cut in Step 1. Remove the backing from the laminating sheets and attach to the front and back of the planner cover. Smooth out with your fingers. |
Step 8 |
Use the original planner cover that came with your planner to mark where the holes should go up the left side of the new planner cover. Punch holes, where marked, with a Crop-a-dile™. TIP: If any of the laminate is left hanging after you punch, trim them away, do not pull. |
Step 9 |
Hold your planner cover sideways so the holes you just punched are across the bottom. Cut two parallel slits in the center of each hole from the edge to accommodate the binding discs of the planner. |
Step 10 |
Embellish with washi tape. |
Step 11 |
