Project Note: For a straighter cut, iron the fabric before you measure and cut.

Cut white cotton fabric 12”x12” for dessert sized napkins. Cut as many napkins as desired.

TIP: A rotary cutter with a metal ruler on a self-healing mat works best for straight fabric cut lines. If you do not have these items, a good scissors will also work.

Once the napkins are cut, carefully begin to pull the threads from the sides of the napkin to create a subtle fringe. Work one side at a time. Pull threads until you have reached a depth of fringe ¼” long.

TIP: If the fringe is uneven, continue to work until the shortest fringed area is ¼” long. You can always go back to trim the edges so it’s straight.

Repeat the fringing of all sides on all the napkins.

To adjust the fringe length so it is all the same, lay a ruler across it on a flat surface and cut with a rotary knife or a sharp scissors. Repeat on all sides and all napkins.

TIP: If you would rather not make the napkins, you can also use fabric napkins.

Iron and fold the napkin as desired.

Cut a piece of scrap paper approximately 4”x4” and insert it under the top fabric layer of the napkin where you plan to stamp on the bunny image.

To stamp the bunny image to the fabric, hold the stamp in one hand and use the other hand to apply the ink to the stamp. Press firmly and all around the stamp while being gentle to the touch so you do not get too much ink that will puddle on the fabric.

Make sure the napkins are on a hard surface like a table for the best results. Position the stamp over the area you plan to stamp and push down firmly. Lift up to reveal the stamp.

TIP: Practice the stamping on a scrap piece of fabric. Stamping over the first try, it is almost impossible to get a clean stamp.

Let all the stamped napkins dry for 1-2 hours with the paper still in between the layers.

After the dry time, iron over the stamp for best results, to set the ink for washing.

Use napkins on a table setting, buffet or just to look pretty on a display.
