Easter to Spring Transitional Wreath
Step 1 |
ADULT: Cut the individual tulip stems off each bush with floral wire cutters. |
Step 2 |
ADULT: Poke the stem of the tulips into the grapevine wreath base. TIP: If needed, reinforce with hot glue. Fill the wreath with tulips, except for a small area at the bottom. |
Step 3 |
To make the Easter Bunny, draw a cute face with the black marker onto a large decorative egg. |
Step 4 |
Paint an oval with Pink Bliss acrylic paint for the bunny's tummy. Let dry. |
Step 5 |
Make an approximately 2½" loop at the end of 2 pink chenille pipe cleaners. Twist together. |
Step 6 |
ADULT: Hot glue the 2 chenille pipe cleaners next to each other, down the center back of the bunny. TIP: The ears should show above the egg, and the stems should hang out below the bottom of the egg. |
Step 7 |
ADULT: Hot glue the two pom-poms in place as the bunny's feet. |
Step 8 |
Cut the chenille pipe cleaners to about 3" long below the bunny, and twist them together. |
Step 9 |
ADULT: Use the chenille pipe cleaners to poke into the grapevine wreath in the area at the bottom of the wreath you've left blank. |
Step 10 |
To make the transition into spring, change out the Easter Bunny and add a butterfly. To make the butterfly, first paint a small decorative egg black. Let dry. |
Step 11 |
Use a pencil and curl the end of a black chenille pipe cleaner around it to create a loop. Do the same with a second black chenille pipe cleaner. |
Step 12 |
ADULT: Glue the chenille pipe cleaners down the center of the egg, leaving about 2" above the egg and the rest below the egg. |
Step 13 |
Cut the chenille pipe cleaners to about 3" long below the egg and twist them together. |
Step 14 |
Glue the wiggle eyes in place and draw a smile with the white paint pen. |
Step 15 |

Step 16 |
Trace the butterfly's wings on the back of a piece of yellow foam. Trace the decorative wing pieces on the back of the pink and orange foam. Cut out all of the pieces. |
Step 17 |
Remove the backing from the pink and orange pieces and glue them in place on the yellow butterfly wings. Fold the wings in half horizontally to create a crease where the butterfly body will sit. |
Step 18 |
ADULT: Hot glue the butterfly body to the wings. |
Step 19 |
ADULT: Use the chenille pipe cleaners to poke into the grapevine wreath in the area at the bottom of the wreath, to replace the bunny. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
