explore the great outdoors leather wall hanging
Step 1 |
First, click here to choose the design from the digital design library. |
Step 2 |
Download the image to your computer then upload into Cricut® Design Space™. |
Step 3 |
Now, click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner and then click ‘Continue’ in the lower right corner of the next screen. |
Step 4 |
Place your stencil vinyl material, grid-side down, onto your cutting mat and load it into your Cricut® machine. Select ‘Stencil Vinyl’ for your material and follow the prompts to cut out your design. Once the machine has finished cutting, gently peel the material away from your mat. |
Step 5 |
Place your leather onto your strong grip mat and add masking tape around the perimeter of the leather for an extra secure hold. Change the material to ‘Tooling Leather’ and install your deep blade housing into clamp B. Load your mat and follow the prompts to cut out the shape. |
Step 6 |
Use scissors to cut your design away from the stencil vinyl roll. Next, use your weeder tool to remove the positive pieces of your design so only the negative is left on the white carrier paper. |
Step 7 |
Cut a piece of transfer tape to fit over the design. Peel the tape from the backer paper, place it on top of your design and burnish. Now, remove the backer paper from the design so your negative design is stuck to the tape. |
Step 8 |
Place the transfer tape, with your design, where desired onto your leather pennant. Burnish over the design and remove the transfer tape so your design is now transferred to the leather. |
Step 9 |
Burnish the stencil vinyl to make sure it has a secure bond with the leather. |
Step 10 |
Fill in the design with your Scorch marker. Let dry. |
Step 11 |
Peel the stencil tape from your leather. |
Step 12 |
Heat the Scorch markings until you have a rustic, wood-burned, look you desire. |
Step 13 |
Cut a piece of jute for a hanger. Thread each end through the holes at the top of your leather pennant and tie a knot in the front. Trim any excess jute. |
