You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.

farmer's market sublimation tote

Unlike iron-on or heat transfer vinyl’s, sublimation transfers your design into the fabric or substrate rather than pressing on top of your surface. Acting much like a printer, you won't have to switch out inks, or use an additional dedicated system for your EasySubli® transfers.

Print Project

Step 1

First, click here for trendy designs for your tote. Download it to your computer, then upload to your CreativeStudio in Sawgrass® Print Manager.

Step 2

Select the template that best matches your substrate and import your design. Create it how you want it to appear on your tote.
TIP: Add words such as “Farmer’s Market” or whatever best compliments your design. This tote is large so you may have to break up your words to fit the size of your sublimation paper. Be sure to mirror before printing.

Step 3

Print your design from your Sawgrass™ printer onto sublimation paper.

Step 4

Arrange the design on your tote and if needed, cut it so it fits as desired onto your tote. Remove the design from your tote.

Step 5

Preheat your EasyPress™ to the appropriate temperature for your material and, if needed, adjust the timer.
TIP: Click here for the Quick Reference Guide for sublimation heat press temperature settings. You can also use any other heat press or household iron to press your material.

Step 6

Lay your tote on top of your EasyPress™ mat and smooth it out with your hands. Now, insert cardstock inside your tote to prevent bleeding to the back as well as protect your mat from any excess ink.
TIP: Use a lint roller over the area where you want your design to remove any dust.

Step 7

Preheat your fabric for 15 seconds to remove any moisture.

Step 8

Replace the design on your tote, ink-side facing down. Use heat resistant tape to hold your design in place.

Step 9

Place another sheet of cardstock on top of your tote (over the taped design) to protect your heat press.
TIP: Butcher paper is also a great tool to use instead of cardstock. You may need multiple layers depending on your design as this ink is very vibrant and may bleed through one layer.

Step 10

Carefully place your EasyPress™ over your design. Hold in place with gentle pressure.
TIP: Be careful to keep the EasyPress™ very still on top of your design. Shifting the design in anyway can cause unfavorable results, such as “shadowing”.

Step 11

Carefully remove your EasyPress™. Again, try not to move your design. Let it cool for about a minute or so and then remove the cardstock and sublimation paper.
TIP: You want to remove the sublimation paper in one smooth action rather than slowly removing as you would iron-on material. When working with more than one layer, you will want to heat one layer at a time. Be sure to cover the already heated part of your design with butcher paper to prevent re-activation of the ink.

Instructions
